KUMARA SWAMY DESIKAR
Around Seventeenth Century, KUMARA SWAMY DESIKAR, devotee of
Siva and ardent supporter of
Saiva siddantha lived in kanchipuram.
He was the archaka and Dikshithar for the People of Thondai
mandalam.
He left his family and gone to Thiruvannamalai with his disciples.
There he planned to become a Sage. But it failed. God made
him to get married.
He got three sons and a daughter.
Siva prakasar, Karunai prakasar, Velaiyar and Gnambikai
ammal are his children.
Siva prakasar
known as Thurai mangalam Siva prakasar , became a sage.
He had
written more than Thirty two books in
Tamil. He translated few kannada books.

He attain
mukthi motcha in Nallatrur near by Pondicherry.
His sister
Gnambikai married Perur Santhalinga swamigal.
Karunai
prakasar get married . And he wrote more than five books in Tamil. Seegalathi
sarukkam …
Velaiyar
married Meenatchi Ammal . He got a son named Sundaresanar
Velaiyar
wrote Mayilathula, Nallur puranam. And attain mukthi motcha at Perumathur.
Sundresanar
married Karpagammal . He settled down his family in Valavanur.
They got a son named Swaminatha Desikar.
Swaminatha Desikar converted himself to
Christianity, changed his name as SUSAI and
married Gnasounthari.
He wrote folk
drama named as “ Gna soundari “.
Susai got a
son named Savari muthu. Savari muthu
married Mary. He got two sons .S.V.S. Rathinam and Ponnu Thambi.
S.V.S.
Rathinam , a social reformer , served as
Bench Magistrate .
He was
rewarded Gold medal by Indian Government for his social service against
Untouchability.
